Defenders of Gotham

Batman is gone. He has protected the city for years, against any number of villains, but now he is gone. And the city needs a protector. Or protectors. So Oracle, also known as Barbara Gordon, daughter of Police Commissioner Gordon and former Batgirl, has used her computer networks and connections throughout the city to reach some unlikely heroes, all from her wheelchair. But these young "heroes" know Gotham's crime very well indeed, for each of them is the child of one of Batman's greatest villains... such as the Joker, Scarecrow, Ra's Al-Ghul, Two-Face, Catwoman, Penguin, Clayface, Manbat, Killer Moth, Killer Croc, the Riddler, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Bane, and the like. Will they be able to save the city their parents threatened so often over the years? Or will the acorns fall all too close to their dark tree and strangle the city in their roots?

Codename: Boybat
Appearance: Aaron looks like a shaggy-haired, scruffy older teen with slightly protruding ears (one pierced) and long fingers. He typically dresses in hoodies and cargo pants for ease in costume transformation.
Costume: Mostly consisting of a red suit similar to a wrestler's singlet and a domino mask for his human form, Boybat's costume is largely designed to allow him to transform easily from human to manbat form.
Powers: Aaron possesses the ability to shift between human form and that of a gigantic bat. In this form he possesses strength, agility and endurance that are increased to superhuman levels. He is able to fly with his pair of leathery bat wings attached to his arms. His hearing is extraordinarily strong and accurate, and he possesses natural sonar and echolocation, as well as the ability to cling to walls and ceilings with the powerful claws on his hands and feet. Unlike his father, Boybat has the power to emit a devastating sonic screech that can shatter most solids if he tries to concentrate it enough.
Background: Kirk Langstrom was a scientist who used a bat dna formula to cure his deafness... though unfortunately, it had the added effect of turning him into the increasingly feral Manbat! Several times Batman defeated Manbat and helped restore Langstrom to his humanity, while saving his wife and daughter as well... but then Aaron was born a manbat himself. Unlike his father, Aaron never had any problems controlling his animalistic side, but until he reached puberty he resembled a bat all the time and had to be sheltered from other children. Luckily, genetics worked its magic and Aaron gained the ability to shift shapes at will, but he's still not sure what he's going to do now that the whole world of both humanity and superheroics have opened up to him. He has joined Oracle because of all the help Batman gave his family, and rather likes the experience of being a superhero, but he's still, in many ways, just a boy.
